8. Cookie Policy

8.1 What are Cookies

Cookies are small text files containing relevant information that are stored on the computer by browsers and are used whenever the user makes a new visit to the website, allowing the navigation to be directed to the user's interests.

Mapie® uses the default googleanalytics cookies

Google Analytics places a cookie on the data subject's information technology system. By setting the cookie, Google is able to analyze the use of the website. With each call to one of the individual pages of this Internet website, the Internet browser in the data subject's information technology system will automatically send data via the Google Analytics component for online advertising purposes. In the course of this technical procedure, the Google enterprise gains knowledge of personal information, such as the data subject's IP address, which enables Google, among other things, to understand the origin of visitors and clicks.

The cookie is used to store personal information, such as the access time, the location from which the access was made, and the frequency of visits to our website by the data subject. With each visit to our website, such personal data, including the IP address of the Internet access used by the data subject, will be transmitted to Google. This personal data is stored by Google. Google may pass on the personal data collected through this technical procedure to third parties.

The data subject can prevent the setting of cookies on the website at any time by means of a corresponding setting of the used web browser and thereby permanently deny the setting of cookies. This browser setting will also prevent Google Analytics from setting a cookie on the data subject's information technology system. In addition, cookies already used by Google Analytics can be deleted at any time via the web browser or other software programs.

In addition, the data subject has the possibility to object to a collection of data that is generated by Google Analytics, which is related to the use of this website, as well as to the processing of this data by Google. To do so, the data subject must download a browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout and install it. This browser add-on informs Google Analytics - via JavaScript - that any data and information about web page visits cannot be transmitted to Google Analytics. The installation of the browser add-on is considered an objection by Google. If the data subject's information technology system is subsequently deleted, formatted, or newly installed, the data subject must reinstall the browser add-on to disable Google Analytics. If the browser add-on has been uninstalled by the data subject or any other person attributable to his or her sphere of competence, or is disabled, reinstallation or reactivation of the browser add-on can be performed.

Further information and the applicable data protection provisions of Google can be found at www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy and also at www.google.com/analytics/terms/us.html. Google Analytics is explained at www.google.com/analytics.

Where there is no specific legal requirement, the data will be stored and retained only for the minimum period necessary for the purposes for which they were collected or subsequently processed (point 5), after which they will be deleted.

10. Storage of personal data

All data relating to this website/system is stored on servers located in the European Union. These servers are protected and maintained in accordance with security standards in order to comply with applicable privacy laws.

11. Users' rights in relation to data
